Île de Ré
Welcome
to our home,
It used to be Escale.
But the stopover is temporary, a simple invitation to stop, an ephemeral halt.
The Oyat is a plant that takes root deep in the sand to stabilise our dunes and protect our coastline. It’s part of our local heritage and has inspired us to re-imagine this place.
It has become our symbol, and has guided our family’s commitment to helping you discover the Île de Ré and pass on a little of its joie de vivre. After all, who hasn’t dreamt of settling on an island?
Welcome to your home.

Hotel and restaurant in Sainte-Marie-de-Ré

You’ll have the chance to see the sun from your room or even sitting under the restaurant’s large glass roof. Even if it is shy on certain days, this never detracts from the typical atmosphere of our island.
Our hotel on île de ré
Take a stroll around Place des Tilleuls, the heart of the little village of La Noue, and you’ll find l’Oyat.
Sheltered behind the famous lime trees that lend their name to this square, and just a few minutes from Montamer beach, l’Oyat offers you the chance to stay the night, have breakfast, have lunch and even enjoy dinner, thanks to its generous, gourmet cuisine.

If we say ‘our island’,
you can say it too.
Ré is for all those who have loved it for a long time or are discovering it for the first time.

Speaking of Ré, sit down because there’s a lot to say… And then, no, get up and go discover it, you’ll be back later for an aperitif. Whether you’re cycling, walking or surfing, you’ll have plenty of time to breathe in the fresh air of life on the Ile de Ré.

This island is a collection of breathtaking landscapes, a figure of speech of course, because believe us, you can breathe very well here.
Ré is home to ten villages, each with its own unique charm, forming a harmonious whole. Here, cobbled, flower-filled streets lead down to long beaches where walkers, swimmers, sunbathers and water sports enthusiasts mingle.
These same lanes (which are great for photos, by the way) often end up taking you to the bustling markets where you can smell the local flavours and authentic cuisine.
Not only that, but sometimes (often) at the end of these streets you’ll find a typical local port where it’s good to linger.

And for nature lovers, the 138km of cycle paths invite you to explore the forests and nature reserves, as well as the island’s traditional skills, such as oyster farming, wine growing and salt production, which produces the famous Ile de Ré fleur de sel.

All in all, there’s plenty to see, drink and eat on the island of Ré.
